As our operations continue to grow, we’re expanding our specialist High Voltage Sparky team to support our nationwide fleet of drilling rigs and associated equipment.
About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced High Voltage Electrician to join our dedicated High Voltage Sparky team.
Working across New Zealand, you’ll be responsible for maintaining, fault-finding, repairing, and commissioning the electrical systems that keep our drilling operations running safely and efficiently. This role involves travel to drilling projects nationwide and includes work in both surface and underground environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair high and low voltage electrical systems.
- Diagnose and repair faults on drilling rigs and associated equipment.
- Complete planned maintenance and emergency breakdown repairs.
- Inspect, test, and certify electrical installations.
- Ensure all work complies with New Zealand electrical standards and health and safety requirements.
- Support drilling crews with technical electrical expertise.
- Assist with equipment upgrades, commissioning, and new installations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Travel nationwide and work in remote and underground environments as required.
What We’re Looking For
- Registered Electrician with a current New Zealand practising licence.
- Proven experience working on high voltage electrical systems.
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience in drilling, mining, quarrying, or heavy industrial environments is highly desirable.
- Strong commitment to health and safety.
- Physically fit and comfortable working in remote locations and underground.
- Full New Zealand Driver Licence.
- Willingness to travel and work away from home on a rostered basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- High Voltage Switching certification.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Working at Heights and/or Confined Spaces certification.
- Experience working with drilling rigs or heavy mobile plant.
